Update on Wild Fire near my home by nvparrothead2006-11-19 12:55:59
Related Story: never throw cig. butts out windows by Dazed 2004-07-14 16:14:52
My cousin is a fire fighter in BC and he recently told me how much people throwing ciggarette butts out the windows upsets him. I know it makes me mad, but I don't react nearly as effectively.

One time, he actually followed a guy for 30 minutes (until the guy stopped), got out of his car, and told the other guy off about how dangerous that is. He then followed that driver back to where he had originally thrown the cigarette butt so they could both make sure that there wasn't a fire started. I hope that guy learned to not do it, if for no other reason than because you never know who will see you and make you drive an extra hour (1/2 hour back to where he threw it out and 1/2 hour back to his destination) to ensure it was out.

I wish I had the guts to do that. Of course, I'm also not 6'2 and many pounds of muscle, so I don't think I would intimidate people nearly as effectively. At least, that's what I assume he did to get the guy to drive back there and ensure the butt was out.
