NOLA already mentioned Matthew Shepard, which is the penultimate example. And, as she said, physical violence against them is not uncommon in parts of the country. Hell, Reah county tried to outlaw their very existence.

And it's downright despicable to call "being gay" or "being black" a "fad". You should be ashamed that you even typed that.

However, your second paragraph is correct. They should be granted them. An amendment like the proposed one would guarantee they NEVER would be.

Yes, they've abandoned it for now. But it's despicable that it got this far, with this much support.
