DirectTV internet access by evilsysadmin2004-07-14 09:19:29
My son uses this type of service by ChuckAB 2004-07-14 09:34:51
in the company he works for. It connects a series of truck stops to the home office.

It works for what they need it for - data downloads and e-mail. He can remotely control machines across the link, but the near-1-second lag makes it a test of patience.

If you send me an e-mail to my nick here at the fancy google address I'll forward it to him to see if he would like to talk to you directly.

Bottom line: It works well for everything but real-time interactive stuff and when land-based (wired or wireless) access is not readily available.
