...if you have a dedicated dev box...and VS.NET is all you use it for (well...I use mine for TV also)...agreed it can open a rather large can-o-worms in some cases...I actually prefer it over the old...although I still use VS6 on my old Dual PII 333 (WinNT4 SP6a)...nostalgia anyone???

but I found VS.NET more...approachable than I found VS6 when I started playing with it years before...but seeing that I'm using a Mac about 95% of the time (WinXP Pro... .NET box is slaved to the Mac through Remote Desktop Client and Gigabit Ethernet)...I've been using Xcode and writing for Mac more often...call it having worked with/fixed too many WinBoxen...

.NET does have some good ideas though...especially if you have high-speed internet (with content reachable through its IDE rather than having to keep multiple apps open)...
