cessation. If you are determined, you can quit on your own. I know. I've done it. Also, the very act of smoking is not socially acceptable anymore and is definitely hazardous to your health. There is no social smoking the way there is social drinking. Your experience is as a smoker and not an alcoholic. If you were an alcoholic, you would say the opposite. I'm not in any way negating your attempts to quit smoking, it's just that they are not comparable in severity to alcoholics quitting drinking. And sometimes hospitalization is necessary for a hardcore alcoholic. I almost lost someone very dear to me to alcohol and it's not as easy for them as it is for non-alcoholics to quit.
