VS6 is a far simpler and more straightforward IDE than VS.NET. .NET is more customizable, but godess help you if you eff up the layout and have to try to figure out how to get it back. The flip side of the customizablity is that VS.NET tends to have inconsistencies between installations, particularly after people monkey with it. Having taught programming in a lab of 20 computers with .NET, I can say that this can beget a wide variety of problems.
