Handheld development Java vs. .NET by kambrose2004-07-14 05:44:24
Going way out on a limb here... by elehack 2004-07-14 05:58:04
and speaking in an area where I have no experience... hopefully it won't get me in too much trouble this time.

Compatibility. .NET will only work on Microsoft handhelds. Java is supported by at least the Sharp Zaurus. I would think that by staying with Java, it's at least easier to keep the door open to supporting multiple platforms (PocketPC, Zaurus, cell phones, will Palm ever support Java? (i hope not)).

Don't hang me by this... I've never written handheld programs... and if I did, they'd probably be in C and for the Palm.
