I've been running my own computer consulting biz part-time for about 6 years, and full-time for the past year. The rock-and-a-hard-place position of trying to expand the client base, while dealing with unreasonable or greedy customers is always a pickle. I have to remind myself that, in cases where I'd like to tell them off, that I need more customers, and even if they don't become a customer, someone they know might.
I don't generally run into this very much, but I understand the difficulty of dealing diplomatically with people who try to take advantage of the courtesy and social graces that most people commonly show to others in a professional situation. |
