Well, some wouldn't agree I suppose.
Last Friday night went and saw the Kinsey Sicks (get rid of the space and put a wibble in front and a dot com at the end for their site) and their current show, "I Wanna Be A Republican" at the San Francisco Herbst Theatre. This is a Dragapella group... four guys, barbershop style, in drag (yes, the group has a serious lean to the left, which made this show, set as a Republican Convention hilarious).
I'm listening to the album from the show, and figured I'd share the lyrics from one song (I think a media file is on their website for it).
When You're Good to Dubya
Based on "When you're Good to Mama" from Chicago, Parody by Ben Shatz and the Kinsey Sicks.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The cheater of the chads,
The Robin Hood for the Rich,
The devotee of Death Row.
George W. Bush
Ask anyone who funds the GOP,
They'll tell you I'm a loyal SOB.
I love them all and all of them love me,
Because the system works - the system once called democracy.
Got a little motto, always sees me through,
When you're good to Dubya - Dubya's good to you.
Want a special tax break for the special few?
Think of it as karma - help me I'll help you.
Now campaign funding's tit for tat
But tit's an expetive.
And tat's too big a word for me.
But please be sure to give.
After 9/11 folks are in a stew.
When you work the trauma, trauma works for you!
Oil men need Iraq war to boost revenue.
The public loves the drama, so they'll love me too.
The folks atop the ladder are the ones that I work for,
So I will boost their incomes up, and they will boost up George.
Economy is struggling now, what would Daddy do?
If you can't find Osama, find someone else to scr*w!
War helps my poll numbers,
Friends get contracts too.
When you fight Saddam, yeah,
Saddam is good for you! |
