Bush&Co. aren't simply bashed for being evil (though there is that). Evidence and cold, hard logic are consistently used by posters here and elsewhere to show that Bush&Co. at best cherry-picked the information they used as rationale and at worse manufactured the reasons they spoon-fed to the U.S. Congress and the world. No one expects a government to be perfect (hindsight or no), we just expect a modicum of honesty.
As for Libya, 14 years of harsh sanctions, on-going negotiations with the U.K. and the efforts of Khaddafi's son, Seif al-Islam are much more responsible for the turnabout in Libyan policy than any stick Bush might be wielding... and currently not wielding very well. |
