I get tired of the endless debates where most of the people just bash GWB and the US for being stupid/evil/etc. There are reasons that all these things happened, and while the reasons may not be perfect in hindsight, they also aren't the epitome of evil either.

In the case of Libya, I think it was a definite carrot/stick thing. They weren't getting much benefit from their previous tack, so why not try a new one, especially when the one they were on might have been a collision course. I think that if they felt that being an outlaw nation was still to their advantage, that they would still be the terrorist-sponsoring outlaws they have been in the past. I don't think their leadership has had a true change of heart (yet), just a matter of convenience.
