The U.S. is attacked by terrorists based in Afghanistan, the U.S. goes after said terrorists. The Russians warn the U.S. that Iraq is planning similar attacks. Thanks to overinflated qotdsubmit at this domain>reports from the CIA as well as numerous foreign services the U.S. has reason to believe that there is an active WMD program as well. Not to mention, in violation of U.N. Resolutions, Iraq's declared WMDs remain unaccounted for. Based on this information and other factors the U.S. invaded.
Libya, after seeing that the U.S. was taking a hard line approach to dealing with nations that supported terrorism (and possibly suffering after years of sanctions) approached the diplomatic table and made arrangements to disarm.
If anything, things look bad for Iran (currently a work in progress), Syria (sort of a hands off approach right now), or North Korea (who, like Lybia are now at the diplomatic table.) |
