Aurora Borealis. Snow and ice. Darkness, then no darkness. YK has a Walmart. It does have a couple of computer stores. It also is a realtively small town. There is one stripper bar. There is a vietnamese restaurant. You can get westernised Chinese food, and other strange and wondrous things. You can drive in and out, and over ice-roads in winter (driving over large and deep lakes using just a bit of frozen water as the road). There are ferries in summer. Spring and fall have times in-between ice and water that mean you are cut off for a week to 10 days. As far as the job, my reply to KS had a website. The government does have job descriptions available on demand. Check it out.
