| I've been there and done that. I do PBX work among others, and you'd be amazed at the mentality of some of those customers. I have to have a phone and I expect it to be cheap to fix. After all, it's just a stupid phone. Stupid phone, yes, not-so-stupid Meridian cabinet in a closet you've long forgotten existed. I remember I reprogrammed $company's Nortel NAM autoattendant (took about two hours) and charged them $75/hr plus mileage and travel time to the location (which was in BFE). You've never heard such whining...they actually called me to complain that they thought the fee was too high for such "simple" work. Well, fine, if the work is "simple" why didn't you do it yourself? |
