We had hail the size of loonies at our place, and some of my coworkers have pictures of completely submerged cars on one of the freeways, and said they watched SUVs float by while they watched from nearby high ground.

Crazy storm! Luckily the only damage at our house was some minor basement flooding that was easily cleaned up, and a few flattened flower beds and vegetable garden. :( There was a severe weather warning with a reminder to watch for tornadoes, so we spent most of the afternoon in the basement hiding out just in case. There were some tornadoes just north of the city, but I don't think anyone was injured. Just reports of garages and small structures missing.

We really like this new city, but this is a whole lot more adventure than we expected for our first summer here. I wonder what will winter bring??
