Do we suspend Godwin's law? by Slamlander2004-07-12 04:45:28

Let me see if I get your points... by Arcanum 2004-07-12 11:13:01
1) So you're saying that because it's happened before in other elections, we shouldn't bother worrying about evidence indicating that the election for the single most powerful person in the US was being systematically tampered with? By that person's minions, allies, and relatives? We should just ignore it?

2) In other words, "trust the government to do the right thing, they won't abuse an opportunity to manipulate how the election is handled".

3-4) So, since power has been abused before, we shouldn't worry when the Federal government creates a policy of systematically ignoring rights and abusing power?

5) What was the law before that? And, are you claiming that one state law negates the possibility of any nationwide and/or Federal trend?

6) I don't think he's referring to that kind of restriction. I think he's referring to the practice of secretly restricting the ability of some people to travel via airlines, using a social and economic profile, without any accountability or functional transparency.

7) We're at war? Against what nation?

Are you sure the current administration isn't assured victory? I have my doubts, considering the voting manipulation being uncovered from last election, knowledge about the new electronic voting machines, and the Diebold exec who stated he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."
