On item one. Could it be that the French are attempting to derail the Oil-For-Food investigation by going after Cheney? One investigator has already been murdered? They wouldn't have anything to be afraid of now would they?

On postponing the Elections; let's think about this for a moment if there's an attack one the day of or the day before (the only scenario discussed as a good reason for doing this) and Bush wins again, the liberals will once again be in an uproar Why? "Because too many people were too scared to leave their homes to vote for Kerry."

Personally I view this idea as a bad idea. What needs to happen now is for both parties to stand up and say "terrorist attack or no, the elections will go on." and pledge not to go through the silliness of 2000 when the Democrats tried to re-write election laws so the could steal an election. This would send a clear message to Al Qaeda that they will not stop us. Currently we are handing them an engraved invitation to attack.

As for the color coded alerts still being yellow it is because no specific target has been identified. Currently we are expecting an attack but we don't know where or what the target is. Once a potential target is identified it will go up.
