| Keep in mind that the 9/11 attacks occurred on election day in NYC, and those elections had to be cancelled on the spot. You are quite right to be concerned about the idea of ever delaying elections for any reason. It may be necessary, however.
This is one of those cases where preparation and forethought can make all the difference in the world.
OTOH (um, that's three hands now?), I can't say I much trust the Bush administration with a delicate task like this. Some sensitivity to civil rights is required, and they haven't shown much concern for that concept. |
