Earth Abides and now I'm sitting here upset. Dunno if you folks have ever read it, but it has just made me acutely aware of my own mortality. I'm not young enough to think myself immortal, nor old enough to consider myself on the way to my eventual death. This was probably the best time of my life to read this book. This is the best review I can give it, for those not too hung up on their own impressions of what a post-apocolyptic world will be like. Kickstart
