Fear my 3 different kinds of prescription painkiller!
I was released from hospital last night, apologies for not posting sooner.
Reading the threads about me previously: You guys rock. Seriously. You make mere aggregations of cooled lava look like poor imitations. Don't even get me started on the sedimentary types. I really, really appreciate all the positive comments and hugs directed my way. I'm looking forward to seeing a card or two from exotic places, too ;)
To summarise my current status:
Typing with one hand get your mind out of the gutter as my right hand is in a cast for a broken thumb. Good thing I'm left handed.
My right leg has stitches above the knee from a laceration. I can't really bend it, so it's a pain to get around on.
My face has stitches on the left side diagonally crossing eyebrow and upper eyelid from where they inserted two titanium plates to fix the fractured malar. I'm getting them out on saturday, but the nerve damage causing numbness on my left face and parts of my scalp could take up to 6 mths to heal. I could look a touch lopsided for a while :/. Me Me 2
My bike seems to be in surprisingly good shape. It'll require new handlebars, possibly a new front wheel, and lots of tuning.
My brand new eTrex GPS is totaled (1 wk old), and the warranty doesn't cover high speed collisions with brick walls. It'll be a while before I can geocache again :( GPS Front GPS Back
Work wise, I'm off for at least two weeks on 80% accident compensation pay.
Once again, thanks for all the support I've seen expressed. Oh, and a bit of wisdom: Even if you really, really want a chupa chup (spherical lollipop - can't get between my teeth right now), don't try and break it in half with a nutcracker. Shards of lollipop everywhere! :P
