/etc/protocols file. For example, by doing this: cat <<'EOF' >/etc/protocols icmp 1 ICMP igmp 2 IGMP ggp 3 GGP ip 4 IP tcp 6 TCP igp 9 IGP udp 17 UDP EOF Hopefully that's enough to get started with. If cat doesn't work (or doesn't exist), try using a shell builtin like echo (once for each line). As for the shared libraries error... which libraries are missing? I'd be surprised if it didn't tell you... Though maybe it doesn't matter, if lwp-download will work.
