(and following news groups/other Exchange users/etc) the switch to Exchange 2000 Native Mode actually has very little impact, at least that would be seen by users. Basically it means that a) you no longer have any 5.5 servers, b) you can't have any 5.5 servers in the future and c) there are some Exchange management features that are enabled. While it's true that there is no going back by flipping a switch (can you say full AD/Exchange restores?), something would have to already be in bad shape for this to blow up.
