thunderbird question by blindman2004-06-23 15:41:52
Which Thunderbird directory did you copy? by Ravenlock 2004-06-23 16:13:04
If you copied the program directory (the one under C:\program files, or wherever you put it) you're out of luck. Mail and settings are stored under the home folder. On WinXP, it's C:\Documents & Settings\userid\Application Data\Thunderbird, no idea where on Win98. Being that you rebuilt the system, that stuff's probably gone if you copied the wrong directory.

If you got the right one, the mail folders are probably under profiles\default\some_random_string\Mail\account_name and can be copied into the new profile setup by the new installation. You'll then need to point Thunderbird to the right place through its settings, potentially.
