| So how much is my job worth? |

I'm trying to put a case together for a nicely sized raise. This will not be easy, becuase many valuable employees are currently getting annoyed at the lack of 'financial appriciation' they receive.
I got this job right out of college and my duties have expanded a huge amount, I've been doing it almost 4 years now (ugh) and I've only received a raise of $2 in the entire time. So I'm tired of this, as much as the job drives me nuts, I like the people, and for the most part the enviroment (depending on who is here and who isn't). I'd also like to continue working here untill I figure out just where my life is going since I have several open threads that I need to sort out.
I took this job as a simple web programer mainly PHP and HTML. My current duties include
Web Programing
- PHP
- MySQL
- XHTML
Software Utilities
- VB
- MS Access
Network Administration (12 Users)
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Active Directory
- MS Exchange 2000
- Symantec Antivirus 8.5
- SUSadmin
- Buisness Vision Accounting Upkeep
- Goldmine CRM Upkeep
Troubleshooting
- Windows 2000 everyday errors
- Clean and Maintain Computers
- Answer everyday questions
Computer Technician
- Design and Build new machines
- Troubleshoot and repair
Video Editing
- Creation of Time Lapse Movies
Security System
- Setup a thumb scanner to access the offices (Yes I got assigned this, its going to sit in my inbox for awhile)
As well as various other crap.
So I guess the question is, how much would it cost to replace me, with someone with similar skills and abilities, as well as someone with my ability to learn and implement on the fly without destroying whats already set up (I don't get test hardware).
I'm in BC Canada.
If anyone can provide there feleings on this, as well as maybe links and examples of other people doing similar jack of all trades type work, it would be much appriciated. |
