  1) Ensure that the CD boots before the HDD. by kahuana 2004-05-11 23:02:59
2) maybe set the IDE controller to "AUTO" detect the CD.
3) If you were to open the 'CD' on a booted system, you see more than just an .ISO file? (no, that's silly. that ISO so BIG I doubt you could fit it on a cd as a file).

Short of those... this *is* the drive you used to burn the CD-R?
The MD5 for the ISO you downloaded matches the MD5 that is published for that version of Knoppix?
