| OK, let's talk about your situation now. Here's my worry. You're young and impatient (that's good), you want to get out on your own (that's good), but often people in your situation get a little hasty and get into a bad situations (that's bad).
If you're planning on hitting the road when you turn 18, that's cool, but it really makes sense if you have somewhere to go. It really is very easy to end up on the streets and not knowing how to get into a positive groove.
So, here's what I want to offer. When you're 18, I'll pay for a bus ticket for you to some here to Roanoke, VA, to the mission. We can offer you a clean, safe place to sleep, three square meals a day, and help finding a job so you can approach the world on your feet.
Let me address one thing that is probably on your mind about that arrangement. The mission is a Christian organization, so that might lead you to worry that you'll be judged and preached at about being gay. I want to assure you on one point: the mission is the least judgemental place I have ever been. Yes, many Christians here have strong disagreement with being gay. However, they're not judgemental or preachy. Keep in mind we're talking about a place that was founded by a recovering street bum who had a long criminal record. People here have all sorts of huge problems in their pasts (and presents), so it's not the kind of place that leads to being judged. I can honestly say that I think you would feel less judged and more welcomed and embraced here than you would in society at large.
So, there's the offer. Bus fare and a nice place to live until you get going. I hope you'll consider it.
