There's a reason I don't do well with people my own age in meatspace... I'VE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING!!! Never went to an amusement park, haven't been to a party since goddess knows when (it was a birthday party too... the only sort I've ever been to), never done any of the gazillion little things that give you a common frame of reference to build on. The internet (and the fact that I was smart enough to get around all their attempts at limiting access, eventually causing them to give up on that) has been a lifesaver for me.
