I think it would have been about evenly divided. TV junkies who let their 12mo infants watch 4+ hours a day, worried that the computer would rob junior of precious time that could be spent watching "educational programming" like the PowerPuff girls, and people who were opposed to any computer time because it's "passive media" that takes away from the time their preschooler spends in front of his game console.

Okay, so I'm exaggerating just a tad. But sometimes it feels just like that LOL
