XBOX Live question... by asayogure2004-05-11 09:53:37
Xbox Live is a paid service. by YakkoWarner 2004-05-11 10:40:16
If you want content distributed over that service, you gotta pay for it. (n.b. If your Xbox is modified, make sure you disable it before connecting to the service. Regardless of intent, if you connect with a modded Xbox, your Xbox will be permanently banned from Live.)

FWIW, I haven't yet seen any patches, although admittedly the number of Live-enabled games I own is small.

Whacked is actually pretty fun to play online, and Clone Wars isn't too bad either (there are also free* downloads of additional arenas). So far the only KOTOR download has been Yavvin Station, where you can talk to this guy for a while (boring) and purchase some really upgraded weapons/armor (nice, if you have the credits). The sports games have updated rosters, although I have a harder time finding "mature" competition online (last one I played, I had to mute the other player and his friend -- neither could've been older than 12 -- just to keep from going insane). Of course, I am anxiously awaiting the chance to get Halo 2 online...

* "Free" meaning no additional cost on top of the Xbox Live service. There are supposed to be "premium" downloads for additional fees, but I have that option turned off, so I don't even know they're there.
