Rant of the day... by JG12004-05-11 08:49:57
traditional weddings are hell by Celticess 2004-05-11 08:59:26
I was in my sisters wedding party but I've seen enough of them and beein through one once(tho it wasn't traditional it wasn't much fun either.)

Why not flat out state you have financial difficulty and refuse to do the bachelorette or whatever and ask they get someone else to do it. They should understand particularly if it's your sister she should know what your going through... and on the dress at least when I delt with it the bride paid the costs because it was her wedding and dresses that would only be likely worn once.

And yea brides get cranky. Parents tend to butt in on weddings. Mine behaved but my ex's family didn't and it had to be specific ways or get this we'd be doomed due to what the astronmer said on our horoscopes :P (no they aren't newagy... they are some type of lay buddhist) Also they just were culturally wanting certain things specific.(for one they spazzed that I wore white... tho in my heritage I was entitled to wear white but in their culture you wear red... so I compromised and switched to something pink after the ceremony for the reception) Anyways the stress of relatives spazzing and bridal and groom nervousness spills over into others in a party.(this is what happened at my sisters wedding) I nearly gave up on being part of the wedding party as I was sick and tired of watching everyone argue and nitpick, etc. In the end things went find except now my sister divorced that one and is now married to another.

*hugs*
