comment, but the off-hand reference to Sagan like he was some legitimate person to use to add legitimacy to a comment about pure science. Mr. Sagan "popularized" science the way Hollywood "popularizes" history (another rant of mine). They just leave those inconvenient hard to understand bits out, or edit them into something "more understandable".
I have no particular issue with your use of him, any more than many others. It just irks me that this windbag seems to get respect for, in my opinion, dumbing down science.
