14 yr old daughter Laptop w/ wireless. Usually in her bedroom. She got it when she was 10 _Everything_ is logged, IRC, WWW, whatever. I have firewalled off all outbound requests that come from her computer and not through the proxy server. Most importantly, I have shown her the logs, and make sure she 'catches' me looking at them every month or so.
