yup .. think thats what he had :) by DragonLady 2004-05-11 07:13:41
My sister home-teaches, so the computer has a lot of games and educational stuff, some of it very sophisticated. Because Daddy works from home on occasions, Seb has learnt to be very good at not destroying the other computers/equipment in the room.

Its all a matter of teaching them house rules really. Not sure how they go on the internet, as the link is usually in use for work when I see it, but it is such a part of their life that I dont think it will be an issue for him/them.

Um .. dont be put off by the paranoia of your friends ... children will only look at stuff that they understand. If you dont make a fuss about things you dont want them to see, they will pass over them as uninteresting. Think about it - if you had access to books with pictures of naked girls/guys at an age before you understood what it signified, would you have shown any interest in them? I know it is easy to find links you dont want by putting innocent words into google, but if its not what they were looking for, its unlikely they will stay on the pages. If you dont make a fuss, they wont go back there. By the time they are interested, they will take the internet for granted and will be more interested in other things. It is no different to telling them not to look at nonFYOS magazines in newsagents.
