Is that UV? IR? Presumably it would require some kind of fluorescent backdrop, in which case you'd need UV light since you can only go to lower frequencies with fluorescent materials (iirc - I'm not much of a physicist) and I don't think hand-held UV lasers were even possible in 1995. Surely it would have been simpler to use an ordinary red laser pointer?
