WD Hard Drive Help Needed by tryxl 2004-05-11 06:23:09
I have a Western Digital USB external hard drive that crashed. I am trying to recover the data from it, so far no luck.

WD says I need to send it to a data recovery company.

I have removed it from the enclosure, and it is a standard IDE HDD.

I tried the WD tools you can download from their site, no joy.

It was connected to a Win2K machine, and died immediately after removing the flash drive.

Any help much appreciated, You can E-Mail me at rogerq(at)tcema(dot)co(dot)talladega(dot)al(dot)us. Yes, it is a beast, and no I am not allowed to change the domain. D#*n government regulation!
