UFies! Need your router-box advice. by LionsPhil 2004-04-12 12:05:08
First off: AN ACTUAL PC IS INFEASIBLE. Anyone saying "just get a 486 with FreeBSD..." or such will be LARTed. Anyone being a smart-alec and suggesting a Mac or such will also be LARTed.

Now, I need a one-(Ethernet)-port ADSL Modem/Router combo in a nasty little plastic box to replace the even nastier Conexant shonk which is dying.

Which brands should be avoided, and which are preferrable? I'm currently leaning towards finding something from Netgear, given advice from a friend IRL. (Plus, the Netgear switch we have is shiny.)
