I do that all the time. Typing in the wrong password on bootup only disables file sharing. It has no affect on webmail or the other web-based applications. Nevertheless, he'll tell his entire team (who all share that one computer, which is fine, that's all they need) that nobody can connect to email or anything else or even print.
