watch one in it's web sometime, or in a garden, look for a bola spider. It throws a little ball of silk at it's prey. They conserve their meals in silk and the silk itself is some of the strongest organic materials around in mechanical strength! There's a nest of them above the door in my garage that I like to watch when I walk under and I'll blow at them to move the webs. Watching how they interact and avoid each other yet claim their territory is awesome! Yet they do have their place and I'll admit, that inside of the house I am the designated bug-swatter not catcher.
