The guns are fairly standard and realistic. .357, various machine guns, sniper rifle, a rocket launcher, grenades. You might get some fancy toys towards the endgame (since you end up fighting sci fi critters) but I'm not sure.
There is gore that you can turn off in the menus, but even with it on, all I've seen is some blood, nothing over the top. Bodies go flying, but not flying apart, in other words. ;-)
The game is hard, but auto-saves frequently. I've found that it makes me think more about tactics (which matter much more in Far Cry than most other FPS games of late), rather than frustrating me too much.
I'm running a 1.3Ghz Athlon w/512 megs of RAM and a GeForceFX 5200, and it runs with medium details smoothly, no overclocking. Looks fantastic, even on medium.
No grapples. Has hang gliders though, for some soar-above-the-islands action, so that might take care of your "get me in the air" fix. ;-) |
