said Iran and Syria? Events like the unwarranted invasion of Iraq. Pure political fodder for the terrorists. When you can disassociate the general populace from the outside world via religion or whatever you develop a general supply dump from which you can draw all kinds of supplys.

But that is beside the point you just raised. Yes, the active military flareup around Baghdad is being perpetuated from resources lying around Baghdad itself. But when you can rebelrouse by sending just a few outside funded Al-Queda members in because of the unrest currently there, it's small change to the terrorist organizations. In all probability they can use the fact of Baghdad in flames more than Baghdad in flames itself with converting new recruits from the general unrest, fear and unhappiness in the middle-east.
