that would be the organization which has a number of member states run by facist, violent, dictators, abusing their citizens?

Or maybe the security council, 5 nations so interested in their own profit or security that the rest of the world can take a long walk?

The UN is a lovely idea yes, but totally unworkable at this point. I think, at the least, it would need a House of Reps/Senate style checks and balances system first.
