1. By researching already published papers. Based on those results formulating their theory and offering it or conducting tests to prove/disprove their theory.

2. By what they gather as evidence via their own research or by tests conducted based on their research and theories.

3. Simple, uncluttered, organized, with perhaps one lone peice or two of personalization if aloud. It really depends on the lab rules. Some forbid outside objects being brought in because they could possibly contaminate the work area.

4. Alot because aren't we all little scientists... also near everything we use in life has involved science on some level. Chemistry is involved in cooking, physics in transporation, etc.

5. I take it with a grain of salt. It depends on if what they've said is peer reviewed and what they have to backup their statments. If I have enough knowledge to make a qualified judgment and I disagree with them I may not fully trust their statements. Again it depends on what they have to backup their statments. Either be it field study, research, or doccumented lab results.

6. See answer to #4... lots of people do it however what gets formally called a scientist varies. But everyone has the capacity to "do science." Only some are formally trained as a "scientist" in a specific field.

7. Technology is a science. Science was exploration of concepts and reaching conclusions. Experimentation and development. That process evolves technology that uses the results from science. So in a sense science is the parent of technology.

8. See above about their doccumentation, studies, etc as to if I find their theory/conclusions credible.
