The problem could have been at any point in the product life. However I purchased the product from that store and it is their responsibility to ensure that their goods are up to a suitable level of quality. That includes ensuring that their suppliers are also up to suitable levels of quality control. Plus it is an own name product so it is their branding on the package. It may not be the stores fault but it is still their responsibility. I may be setting them unreasonable targets but for commodity items in which there is no other product differentiation how else do I pick a supplier?
