I live way the heck out in the boonies, I'm not allowed to ride with friends, and I have neither a drivers' license nor a car. In other words, I leave the house only to go to school or the humane society (but rarely the humane society any more, 'cuz dad's too busy/fed up with me to drive me there any more). If I want to buy anything (including Christmas presents) without my parents' knowledge, this is often a several-week-long exercise in plotting and sneaking.
