                Marfan's? by shorty822006-11-19 12:55:59
yes my cousin died from his aorta snapping by Celticess 2004-04-05 17:03:18
but he also had polio which added to things. Marfan's was suspected with my son. He has the ladel chest which can show up with marfan's, fragx and a few other things.(btw some people think all frag x are MR they aren't and can be LD and normal iq's etc) My son doesn't have fragx unless it's point mutuation which is rare.(but I think it's something genetic as traits that are physically notable run in his dads family... only whatever it is isn't genetically testable through current xy basic cytogenics) They also tend to be a bit double jointed...

Marfans I know doesn't affect mental capacity normally but some people have more than one thing going on.(which was my sons case tho again they said no marfan's after they tried some test for hyper extensible joints).

I simply noted it because there is a wide variety of issues in my family and I think specifically we have chromosome 15 defect that we carry.(notice my daughter died of brain cancer, my son has non specific mr, my dads family has rampant colon cancer, also one case of leukemia... thease are all linked to that and chromosome 17)

One more thing of note iq's in autism can go either way. It's considered a mental handicap, developmental disability, and neurlogical condition. In some of us our iq's are above average and some are below average and some people are normal iq.(and no not all of us are savants) But we tend to have more high and low iq's in our population than average I think.<shrug> There is some sort of chart somewhere listing streangths and weaknesses of a variety of developmental disabilities and I did see the downs and autism chart when my son was small and I know my own chart had a variety of stuff on it when it was done when I was little.
