1. Experimentation.
2. Analyzing data.
3. That would depend mainly on what I was studying.
4. A bazillion. Everything from the handcream I use to the electricity powering my computer.
5. Depends on the scientists. In general, I tend to trust what they say, but I do have exceptions (for example, in a conflict-of-interest situation where a company's scientists claim results extremely favorable to the company's product).
6. Everybody who analyzes how stuff works and why it works that way.
7. Science is how/why stuff works. Technology is science applied to making life easier in the real world.
8. Hmm... whether or not it was peer-reviewed, whether or not I can spot anything that seems fishy in statistics or methods, whether or not there's a conflict of interest, how well it fits with whats already known... |
