Also, if you can manage to go there for one year, and get reasonably good grades, there's a reasonably good chance you can lean on the FinAid office for more help the next year. Colleges don't like losing students. Lastly, going to MSU for a year and then transferring to Cornell later might be a viable option. All hope is not yet lost.
