If you're on a different leg of their network, that modem may not be registered locally, which will prevent you getting a connection.
The computer is irrelevant to the modem. As long as you can connect the modem to your computer somehow, the two of them will communicate. Your modem does register your computer's MAC address, but this is reset when you power cycle the modem. You wouldn't get a connection if you plugged your NAT box into it, either.
So, you might want to call Roadrunner and let them know you're moving, and see if they need to make any adjustments on their end. |
