New Guy just handed me a floppy and requested I recover data from it. I look at it, put it in my drive, try to access and its dead, like what happens to all floppys eventually. Explain to him that floppys shouldn't be used in this day and age. He questions me on why it would break, I explain that floppies are fairly easy to destroy, but even if your carefull they just die eventually, and aren't that reliable for everyday usage.
He asks me how he should store files, or transfer between computers. Explain CDRWs and Memory sticks, and he asks what program he needs to buy to turn his CD into a writer... <sighs>
I'm in hell, and I have to deal with this guy sharing my office. |
