I can see how misplacing "it" would be a problem, and would also indicate a possible loss of sanity. I assume you found it again, as it appears repeatedly in your post.

I'd also expect schoolchildren to abscond with it at any opportunity. With classes on grammar and composition, who knows when they'll suddenly need it?
